Our Team

The Non-Profit Assistance Corp. was founded by Shobha N. Lizaso. She is a lawyer who has also worked as a forensic accountant at top regional and national firms. She has started many great non-profit organizations and she currently serves as a consultant or advisor to several prominent non-profits throughout the country. She also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Disability Rights Florida and the National Executive Service Corps, provides ongoing legal counsel on a pro bono basis to several animal conservation non-profits, founded and runs the C.A.R.E. Society, and is a trained emergency wildlife rescuer (marine and land).

She frequently provides informational presentations to entrepreneurs and non-profit founders on a wide array of topics including selecting a business structure, copyrights, trademarks, Board development, alternative dispute resolution, and fiduciary duties. She has been featured as a "Top Professional Under 40" in Brickell Magazine (2015) and was also featured in Attorney at Law Magazine (2015).

Our team is comprised of highly experienced lawyers, accountants, and financial compliance specialists, who each have extensive experience with starting non-profits.  The non-profit industry is highly regulated so any misstep can cost an organization it's tax-exempt status and it's ability to solicit donations, and can create further problems for the non-profit's Board and officers. Experience matters when it comes to highly regulated industries.
